This week has gone by in a blur. But i’ve noticed that that is the rate of time i am currently living in, so that comes with little surprise.

Let’s see, some positives:

-1 midterm down, and I had a good feeling

-got a big bro and a family

-started my job, and it has perks

-i talked my way into a light probation for my USC incident (I blame the state of California)

-the room has gotten some much needed improvements

Some negatives:

-Chem Lab. It was better than expected, but 3 hours of my life are gone.

-1 more midterm.

-having no study tables, but still being in the library for way more than i should be

-my girlfriend was on lockdown, so i havent seen her once this week.

Anyways, now that that’s out of the way, i’d like to talk about drugs for a minute.

after watching “fear and loathing in las vegas” this week (i want a career like johnny depp), it made me think about the role of drugs in art. You see, while watching the movie i got curious, and decided to research the arsenal of drugs Dr. Gonzo and Raoul Duke were huffing continuously throughout the movie. One of the main drugs, “mescaline”, caught my eye.

It’s a psycho active drug, meaning you will trip. hard. While Raoul saw bats flying down upon his car in the Californian Desert, Most users experience a flattening of their world, perceiving 3D objects in a 2D, geometric way…often stretched or distorted. Art majors…ring any bells?

picasso. cubism. i never really perceive great people of our history as druggies, but GOD DAMN, it all makes sense…this guy was huffing.

Cubism was one of the major breakthroughs of modern art….could another breakthrough be made using the same drug? were all major artistic breakthroughs the result of a beautiful trip on reality altering drugs?

think about it.

can’t wait to see this

apple launches new ipods!

i am most impressed with the new ipod nano…..they made the screen bigger, added an fm radio (which you can pause, like a dvr), and a CAMERA!!! something that has been missing from ipods for far too long. plus, they didn’t increase the price. bravo apple, this may make me upgrade from my ipod mini.

haven’t checked out the new itunes 9 yet….what do people think of it so far?
